A West Palm Beach man had to be lifted from his apartment by crane to receive medical attention. An extreme rescue—locals say he weighed over 600 lbs, making conventional evacuation impossible.  |

Looks like they opted for the belts-and-suspenders approach to the lifting rig.  What a waste of money when EMTs are involved. I (and a few large friends) could have bounded him in a sitting position on a benched 4x4 pallet and wheeled him to the elevator on a pallet jack. |
