the less density of molecules for a sound wave to travel thru means it cant travel as far. i think and if it was any kind of nuclear testing, we have ways of detecting any such test and would be aware of it with in a few min. |

I was thinking that about radiation detection also, but on the other hand countries have done testing without us knowing until after the fact. E.G. North Korea.

The fact the Russians aren't saying anything makes me believe weapons were involved. Why would they stay silent about space junk or a meteor Remember this also occurred over the central Asian part of Russia, north of Khazhstan. The USSR tested its nukes in what's now central/northern Khazhstan back during The Cold War, plus there's not a lot of Western forces, etc in the area to test for residual radiation. Maybe a conventional missile exploded in the stratosphere. |
