The Most Amazing Thing About Trees
its strange, u assume trees/plants seem like they would be the perfect balance in nature. they give as much as they take.... that they are as one with there environment. but.... they give sooooo much more for us, than they take in.... interesting

Re: The Most Amazing Thing About Trees
i think a lot of the flora and fauna of the earth are like that, actually. evolution is amazing but at times is very inefficient if you compare it to things humans design. that's one of the things that makes evolution such a counterintuitive principle... things look efficient and efficiency is usually an indicator of design... but a lot of nature is very inefficient if you really look at it. |

Re: The Most Amazing Thing About Trees
Interesting post. As with all life forms, trees were designed with inherent properties and functions. We are way too limited to comprehend much of creation. |

Re: The Most Amazing Thing About Trees
Osmosis, and there is another process taking place as well. I just can't seem to remember what it is called. In basic fried mind speak, the water will reach the top of the tree as long as there is a sufficient number of leaves. When the number of leaves becomes too few the tree slowly dries out from the top and dies. The root system is the last to die.. obviously. I'd be more helpful but i lose words these days, and the word i needed to use is one of the ones that is gone. I do remember it being taught in my last year of high school biology. |
