Mars,the coordinates are available: it was taken by this: The Mars Global Surveyor (MGS) Mars Orbiter Camera (MOC) science investigation used 3 instruments: a narrow angle camera that obtained grayscale (black-and-white) high resolution images (typically 1.5 to 12 m per pixel) and red and blue wide angle cameras for context (240 m per pixel) and daily global imaging (7.5 km per pixel). http://www.msss.com/all_projects/mgs...ter-camera.php MOC operated in Mars orbit between September 1997 and November 2006. Hmm thats pretty cool. Wonder what ever happened to that rover that was stuck a while ago.. I know they long surpassed their life expectancy but last I heard it was stuck and only a couple of the wheels were still working..

Spirit ended talking to us on March 22, 2010: Opportunity gave up in January 2011. The image in question was not taken by some rover though. |

No I got that much, It was taken by satallite.. It just reminded me of the rovers on mars and that I had not heard anything about them in some time. |

Ah, my bad: sometimes this gets mistaken with the trench made by Phoenix, the lander. Sadly, communications with Sprit and Earth seems to be closed permanently (attempts to restore them are still being made, but likely the mission clock stopped); after the blackout of January, Opportunity seems to be now healty:  http://marsrover.nasa.gov/mission/status.html |
