Re: Lop Eared Bunny Giving Birth

How can the rabbit dig a den if it's an indoor rabbit?
They dont ,but you give them a little box with a hole in and they will definately made a nest inside. But give them lots of silence and dont stress them, they tend to eat their childs when they beeing disturbed too much. But when the offspring get hair itsmore ok to check them out.

Re: Lop Eared Bunny Giving Birth

Yeah, he came already litter trained. Most do now really BUT they are easy to train as well.
Rabbits are very clean animals. I used sawdust in my litter trays and sawdust in one part of his cage so he always went in the same place.
Get a lop ear as they are very very clever and mine had the personality of a dog
I miss my bunny a lot, he's only been gone 6 weeks
I think sometime next year i am going to have two mini lop eared bunnies. Black ones
Sorry to hear about your bunny. How long did he/she live?
Elaborate on the 'personality of a dog' statement: did he hang out with you on the couch and follow you around etc? Did he recognize his name and such? How do you train them - how do you get them to do business in there?

He died early due to an accident, don't really want to talk about it but he was mischievousness and broke his foot, it was unfixable and in the end he gave up and died.
He would indeed follow me around, lay in front of the fire and next to me on the sofa enjoying being stroked and cuddled. Also would beg by the fridge whenever it was open. Happy little chap.

Here's some links on litter training below. I basically put some of his pellets and pee soaked sawdust into his trays and he familourised himself quite quick with where he was meant to go. Don't use cat litter as it can be posionous to rabbits. There is some rabbit friendly litters but i just used sawdust and put a bit of hay in it too as they like to nibble while going to the toilet.
