Re: London Riots Start To Spread Across England (6-10th August 2011)

This is not a protest, it is a riot. The worst part is it is a riot for the wrong reasons. They're pissed off because a drug dealer was killed? Pissed off because an under aged criminal was knocked about?
Set up sniper positions and shoot looters, vandals, and anyone else wearing a hood, with tranqualisers. When they are knocked out you send in the van to scoop them up. If your politicians passed an emergency law through quick enough outlining that people taking part in riots can be detained, reguardless of age, in a mass detention facility and charged as a group, then you can limit the damage and put a stop to the madness.
I'd want to deal with this another way though. I'd lay on top of my house with a rifle and headshoot every little rioting scrote, it's a much more permanent way of dealing with the problem and it cleans out the gene pool as well.

Re: London Riots Start To Spread Across England (6-10th August 2011)

Members of the public have taken to the streets of London to protect their communities from violence and looting.

On the streets of Enfield, in the north of the capital, a group of 70 men patrolled their streets late into Tuesday night.
They were one of several groups in the area determined to take a stand against rioting and to help the over-stretched police force.
Enfield was badly affected by the riots on Monday night, with a Sony warehouse set on fire.
One of those involved in the patrol, Nick Davidson, said a lack of action from police prompted their decision: "We've had enough of the police just standing there... while people are looting and ruining the whole area.
"Everybody here pays tax and we've all had enough of it. We're sickened by the police doing absolutely nothing.
"They're not policing our streets, we have to police them."
On the patrol in Enfield, the men told Sky News that they were determined to take a stand for "as long as it takes."
Another participant told Sky News: "The real community of Enfield have had to come together and stick up for ourselves, the businesses, the places we come and shop, the places that we live and prevent any more damage happening."
They also believe they have struck a chord with their community.
Matt Skooly, 39, insisted that his group had had a positive response: "We've been cheered by pedestrians, other local people and the police cheered us on as well.
"Hopefully this is going to cap it, this is the last of the kids coming out like thugs and wrecking stuff, we'll look after our own streets in a responsible way."
As the evening progressed the crowd grew and was later estimated to number 300 people.

In Southall, west London, hundreds of Sikh men stood guard outside their temple and patrolled the streets.
They were located a few miles away from Ealing, which saw some of the worst of the riots on Monday night.
The temple's president, Himmat Singh Sohi, said they wanted to protect their community.
General secretary Dr Parvinder Singh Garcha told Sky: "We want to show them (the rioters) we are here together.
"We want for them to discuss if they have a problem, we will address that with them but certainly we will not stand for any kind of wanton violence."
Groups of people also congregated in Eltham, southeast London, where it was clear the English Defence League were involved in organising the gathering.

Re: London Riots Start To Spread Across England (6-10th August 2011)

Police will be allowed to use water cannons on rioters after children as young as nine looted stores and made off with bottles of wine and Vodka in fresh violence that flared around the UK yesterday.
The children wore tracksuits and innocently disregarded covering their faces as they ran through the shattered glass of supermarkets to fill their pockets with looted goods.
Today, the police were given the green light to use water cannons with 24 hours notice. Prime Minister David Cameron said that plans had been put in place to deal with the disorder.
'Contingency plans have been made for water cannons to be used at 24 hours notice,' Cameron said in a speech outside Downing Street this morning.
'Whatever resources the police need they will get. What ever tactics they fell they need they will have legal backing to do so.'
The disturbances yesterday came as 16,000 police officers were deployed on London's streets in a bid to head off a fourth night of the violence which spiralled out of control across dozens of suburbs on Saturday night.

Too young to drink: A youngster barely over 10 years old clutches a bottle of wine looted from a Sainsbury's Local store in Manchester city centre, and right, one of his friends runs away from the same shop with three bottles of strong Vodka:

Disorder and looting rocked parts of Manchester particularly, but there was also trouble in Wolverhampton, West Bromwich, Nottingham, Leicester and Liverpool - although police appeared to containing the unrest.
But in what was by far the most serious incident of the night three men, two of them brothers aged 25 and 21, died in Birmingham after they were hit by a car.
West Midlands Police is also currently investigating reports that shots were fired at a police officer just outside Birmingham city centre, thought to be in the Aston area, according to Sky.
None of the violence has escalated in the same way as it did in London the previous night. The capital remained relatively calm last night.
So far, 109 people have been arrested in the West Midlands, 110 in Manchester and Salford, and 44 in and around Liverpool. In Bristol there were 19 arrests for offences, including having a balaclava in your possession.
There was also a large blaze at a derelict art college in Gloucester, with several smaller fires, while police also dealt with small groups who attacked them.
In Birmingham mobs rampaged through the city centre but unlike Saturday night, when shops were looted, the gangs mainly wreaked destruction, setting fire to cars and attempting to provoke police.
Rioters continually regrouped and dispersed, forcing police to chase them. Crowds of around 500 assembled in the city centre and the atmosphere quickly turned menacing.
During the disturbances the three men - the brothers and a friend - were involved in a hit-and-run incident in the Winson Green area as they were protecting their car wash business after the previous night's violence. They were taken to hospital but all subsequently died.

Mob-rule: A vehicle burns as yobs move away on the streets of Birmingham:

Manchester: Miss Selfridge was set alight in Market Street causing thousands of pounds of damage:

Manchester: A masked looter runs off with items from Sainsbury's Local:

Liverpool: A post office in the Bootle area of Merseyside was attacked with a stolen digger, pictured:

Summer holiday over: A police officer helps council workers to move the burned out shell of a family caravan which was torched during rioting and looting in Toxteth Liverpool, last night:

Remains: The smouldering remains of the disused art studio building in Gloucester which became the target of West Country rioters last night:

Birmingham: People wearing masks swig alcohol next to a burning car in Birmingham city centre:

Birmingham: Masked looters carry boxes of expensive electrical gadgets out of a home cinema shop in central Birmingham:

Birmingham: Gangs set cars alight in the city centre and wreaked havoc, trying to provoke police:

Manchester: A rioter is pictured trying to smash the Esprit shop window on Market Street in Manchester:

Awesome post Kelly I hope this ends soon people are losing their homes and businesses all because these kids have been raised by parents with no morals and values and we need to break the cycle because in 5 - 10 years time this could scarily seen like 'The good old days'

I hope so too. It's just getting more and more ridiculous each day now. Just an excuse for people to cause trouble now in each major city of the UK.

I agree on the cycle of things. If things don't change then today's youth will be bringing up their own offspring in the same way. People seem to of lost all morals, respect and responsibility for themselves and others
