Re: List of Botched Executions

I think a bullet to the head would be more efficient.....sorry if it seems blunt but damn...people sit on death row for decades wasting tax money and when they get executed by lethal injection it costs a ton....a bullet is really cheap...and easy...
What about the many who after decades were proven to be innocent? Was that a waste of your tax dollars? What does it cost per taxpayer? A dollar a year?

That's the very definition of a waste of money!!! If they shouldn't have been there in the first place fuck yeah its a waste of MY money. I know in Fl its like 10k a year per citizen of fl. they automatically get an appeal if they are put on death row those (can) cost millions a pop.

If those assholes are dead, then the execution WAS NOT BOTCHED.
They all sounded pretty successful to me.

No...not even close. $38.8 Billion a year goes to prisons which would be roughly $20 per person assuming 200 million tax payers. While that is not specific numbers for death row inmates that is certainly a large amount of money on its own.

Also that logic is horrifically flawed. All that money can be used for lots of other great things.

As for innocent people...that is a larger issue with the entire justice system that needs to be handled better. Especially when it comes to penalizing judges and people involved in cases which were grossly mishandled instead of just handing someone a bunch of taxpayer money.

Re: List of Botched Executions

Great post, really informative. The site it's all copied from is really interesting too.

I'm not a supporter of the death penalty any longer. Used to be. Now I no longer think it's the best way to do things for a number of reasons. I can understand wanting these people scrubbed out of existence though.

I am sure that will be a great comfort to anyone strapped to the table waiting to get injected.

Your math on the other point is applied to the wrong population. You gave the cost of keeping all of them alive. I was referring only to the wrongly convicted. Although that number is certainly high, we don't know how many innocent people are sitting on death row.

How do you feel about executing young people, like say thirteen or fourteen? Just wondering.
