42. Sept. 15, 2009. Ohio. Romell Broom. Lethal Injection. Efforts to find a suitable vein and to execute Mr. Broom were terminated after more than two hours when the executioners were unable to find a useable vein in Mr. Broom’s arms or legs. During the failed efforts, Mr. Broom winced and grimaced with pain. After the first hour’s lack of success, on several occasions Broom tried to help the executioners find a good vein. “At one point, he covered his face with both hands and appeared to be sobbing, his stomach heaving.[62] Finally, Ohio Governor Ted Strickland ordered the execution to stop, and announced plans to attempt the execution anew after a one-week delay so that physicians could be consulted for advice on how the man could be killed more efficiently.[63] The executioners blamed the problems on Mr. Broom’s history of intravenous drug use. Broom RAPED and KILLED a 14 year old girl called Tryna Middleton. I'm glad he went though hell! evil fucking monster i'd spit on his grave.

Not that I'm planning on being on Death Row any time in the future, but if I had a choice, please give me Co2 or point blank bullet (just don't miss). As a previous snake owner, I know that the most humane way to put down a mouse for feeding is Co2. I don't think it would be too much to administer to a human, just like it was said previously.

Great post - very very interesting. There's one on cracked for the last words of people being executed. Most of them are like "kiss my ass"

I'm sure I read somewhere about Ted Bundy's execution being botched in a way. It would be interesting to read about that.

The hangman was one of the most prolific executioners using the drop table and weight formula. An experienced executioner will give an instantaneous and painless death. Too much time is wasted between the crime and the execution and if more were completed in a timely manner we would have less crowding problems in the prisons...NEXT should be the cry from the gallows.
