Re: Jim Morrison's Grave In Père Lachaise Cemetery Paris, France
In the 1990s Morrison's father, George Stephen Morrison, placed a flat stone on the grave. The stone bears the Greek inscription: ΚΑΤΑ ΤΟΝ ΔΑΙΜΟΝΑ ΕΑΥΤΟΥ, literally meaning "according to his own daimōn" and usually interpreted as "true to his own spirit". You must have been there quite a few years ago. |

Re: Jim Morrison's Grave In Père Lachaise Cemetery Paris, France
Probably around 20 years ago or more. I recall the many famous graves and tombs throughout the cemetery and thinking how sad Morrison's last resting place looked. Probably would have done much better if he was buried in the U.S. Paris wasn't much more for him than a place to get drunk. |

Re: Jim Morrison's Grave In Père Lachaise Cemetery Paris, France
The family apparently had the choice a few years ago to bring him home, however, they decided to leave him in Paris in the end. The rest of the cemetary is an amazing place, did you see Victor Noir's grave and semi aroused state?
