Ford dropped the ******* here in the 70's I believe it was. Ever since then they just got all sorts of sexy. I do hope Ford decides to bring them over here as well as the new Focus RS. I think it would take too much attention from the Mustang though.

The 2010 Mustang is not that great looking in my opinion. Plus Ford took 1 step forward with the 90's era Mustangs and then took a huge leap 50 years into the past with the new one. It has a live rear axle as opposed to independent rear suspension. That pretty much caters to the no talent ass clowns whose idea of racing is going fast in a straight line for 1320 feet. BORING. The Aussie ****** has 4 wheel independent suspension and probably rides quite nicely as opposed to the Mustang which has the rear suspension of a truck. The styling of the new ****** is very similar to the U.S. Taurus but has drastically different powertrains. We don't get any Ford passenger car with an inline six anymore. The Taurus is also primarily front wheel drive unless you get the SHO (Super High Output) which is now all wheel drive.

Funny enough, I'm not sure about the current generation SHO, but previous generations were powered by Yamaha engines. Take that racist American car enthusiasts.

Mate, have you seen the old GTHO phase 3? It was the fastest 4 door car on the planet the year it was released and is very similar to the XY GT in the looks department. After that, Ford released the XA, XB, and XC. They also released the Ford Cobra which was an XB coupe (i think) highly modified and limited to a production run of only 3000 - all numbered. Those old Fords are sweet. The new FPV ****** was released to compete with the Holden Commodore Clubsport, both cars kick arse but the W427 rules the road. I saw one on the road not that long ago and the first thing i noticed about it was the exhaust note, it sounds fucking mean!! Just a pity that we were stuck in traffic because i would have loved to see it open up to see the acceleration.

Well, even considering a Commodore weighs about 1850 kg. and if they put it on a diet and made it livable it would still weigh about 1600kg. it would accelerate about as fast as a Ferrari 575M or so. Not blistering fast but still enough to make your eyes go a tad blurry.

But the Commodore is a family car, 4 doors, large boot, and all the extras like stereo, air con, etc and you can pick one up for about $35 000 - $40 000 including on road costs. I'd like to see the Ferrari compete with that. The W 427 accelerates like a rocket, 0 - 100 in under 5 seconds and it has all the extras that the stock Commodore family sedan has too. I have yet to see a family friendly Ferrari.

No, without a doubt the Commodore and in particular the HSV is a supreme bargain. The auto publications tend to be a bit snobbish and racist sometimes. The Holden Commodore and it's Vauxhall and Pontiac offspring have been much lauded by the press though. Many liken it to the BMW M3 at a better price which is no mean feat because the M3 is considered to be the pinnacle of "affordable" sport coupes and saloons. In terms of segment (mid to full size saloon), the only competition it really has are the BMW M3, Audi RS4, AMG C63 and Cadillac CTS-V all of which it safely undercuts by a significant margin. In that price bracket you're stepping down in terms of size usually with your Subaru Impreza WRX STI and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X or stepping down in practicality with the Nissan 370Z. I'm talking similar power/weight figures there. There are regional vehicles which probably are close to it in terms of performance, like here we have the Taurus SHO, you guys in Australia get the Ford FPV ******, I don't know if there's a performance Mondeo yet like the old ST220 or anything.

I was a valet while in school and one of my favorite vehicles to drive was the Audi, surprisingly! Also, 2007 Ford Shelby Mustang.

Heres the newest Audi R8:

The mid-mounted V8 engine with 4.2 liter displacement and DOHC FSI produces 420 hp and accelerates to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds. The maximum torque of 317 lb-ft delivers breathtaking trust. The top speed is 187 mph. V8 spark-ignition engine with FSI direct ignition, DOHC technology, two light alloy-cylinders heads both with dual overhead camshafts (DOHC), two inlet valves, two sodium-cooled exhaust valves, intake manifold with integrated-aspirated high-riving set up to 8250 rpm.

Actually the newest R8 has a 5.2 liter V-10, I dont really remember the stats but Audi at first vowed not to tread on Lamborghini territory with the R8 (Lamborghini is owned by Volkswagen Auto Group) and the V-10 they use is a derivative of the Lamborghini V-10 in the Gallardo... which is also the same chassis that the R8 uses.
