Re: Goat Having a Seizure
UPDATE I tried to keep her separated from my Buck goat when he was in rut (horny goat season). BUT I guess he used his notable Houdini skills to get to her. After a lot of extra care she has just had twin goaties a boy and a girl! No names because I can't come up with any that fit.http: |

Re: Goat Having a Seizure
The big males are pretty determined. How long has she had seizures like that. I had a shep that had seizures like that but unfortunately it was more like a brain tumor. Anyway, good news!!! Goat cheese all around!

Re: Goat Having a Seizure
Poor thing! I'm very pleased to read she is given as good a life you can offer her and that you didn't listen to those who said "put her down" - why would you want to?? I had convulsions after surgery for about 8 years and they feel like I was getting electric shocks at the time. Once they passed, I was just really tired with a headache. Surprised anti-convulsant drugs haven't been tried? |

Re: Goat Having a Seizure
Good gosh no, please don't euthanize her! No, this was my german shepherd dog that I had to put down in '06. He was 12 with horrible arthritis anyway. Parts of his spine were literally fused I found out. But his seizures were like that, except they became more and more frequent, even through heavy medication until they were coming multiple times a day. There were many other indicators of a brain tumor. They were similar to your goats but probably longer and more violent actually. The first time it happened I thought he was dying (you know what I mean, I was so scared...terrified actually). We did everything but the MRI but I always wondered about something like Lymes in the back of my mind. He was just the best. They ALL are though. |
