Those things wash up on beaches in Japan all the time, there was one that was measured at 26 meters long. If that's what washes up then imagine what is still hidden at the bottom of those trenches.

Saw one at Underwater World in QLD, Australia. Creepy as hell being in the room with it, eyes as big as a dinner plate. You feel like it could come alive and do a Jules Verne, the thing just lays there in the glass cabinet on ice. Not sure if it's still there, but it was there in 08/09.
