I actually collect these things.

The largest I have are two gigantea and one galapagoensis. I've got and had loads of other giant centipedes, mostly from Asia and Africa.

They can be very dangerous, capable of delivering a medically significant bite. They really put my girlfriend on edge.

We used to have a hamster that could push it's cage open and a few times it escaped and it always made its way to the bedroom. At least three times the hamster woke my girlfriend at night by crawling on her feet in bed! She went nuts! She suffered a full-scale panic that shook her even hours later!

I love my centipedes. I've kept literally hundreds of them and even had the largest specimen even seen by the world's foremost expert.
