Re: Friendly Wolves

maybe wolves in skansen park, Sweden. Def. not wild. rubbing their scent on him. Maybe they're curious and smelling the shampoo he used. Great experience though. you can see the intelligence in their eyes.

Re: Friendly Wolves

Not normal for sure! My understanding is that wolves are really very skittish with humans. Would risk life and limb to experience what that man did! Stupid, yep, worth it, yep!

Re: Friendly Wolves

Here in SW MO, we have few wolves, but many coyotes and feral dogs/dog-coyotes.

This is a beautiful example of how wolves can be. But any time a coyote/coyote-blend approaches us, they're always starving and/or sick. We shoot on sight, because otherwise, they wouldn't walk up on humans, fair dinkum. Placid country life my ass... at least we can seen the Milky Way at night... and watch bucks in the morning.

Re: Friendly Wolves

I wonder if he was instructed not to pet them. He never touched them. That would kill me, I'd have to pet them.

Wolves, and canines in general, tend to perceive hands as a secondary "mouth". Give them the wrong idea, and they might react thinking you are trying to "bite" them. This is why I examine dogs who are nervous with only one hand, and making as little eye contact as possible, so they don't feel overwhelmed by multiple sources of perceived threat.
