Re: Creepy Photos Of Doctor's Deserted Mansion

One day I want someone to find a place like this, not touch it, and open it to the public as a museum of a real life family.
It would be awesome.

Very cool post! Like everyone else has said, it's interesting to imagine what went on there the last few days.

The family who owned the house were killed in a car accident, the only survivor lived in the house until she died in the 70's. With no one to inherit the house, it was left as is.

Some rooms look staged, especially with the coats and hats still hanging on the coat hooks. It doesn't seem too believable that people would leave those behind.

Exactly my thought too, if they didnt have any relatives the state would have claimed it and sold it, I think.

Re: Creepy Photos Of Doctor's Deserted Mansion

Certain shots will have been staged. Items moved around in order to create a well composed shot. For the most part however, everything remains as it did when the last owner died.

For those interested in the history of the house, I suggest reading States of Decay, by Daniel Marbaix, as it clearly details why the house (and others like it) came to be abandoned.
