ummmmm....no way these pictures were taken in 1910.
They actually were taken between 1909-1912, in colour! They were taken (for the most part) by Russian Artistocrat Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorskii (the man in the 2nd picture). He took the images on a large glass plate 3 times, with red, green and blue filters. Projected together, the image appeared in full colour.

Everybody is so down on communism, its inferior to free market society; however communism would help a lot of third world countries. People have to realize the concept of "gained wealth" is only about three-hundred years old. Communism destroys the noble class and puts everyone on an even plane, its a healthy part of economic evolution [for countries willing to evolve that is].
So there were no poor people in Eastern Bloc countries during the cold war because communism put everyone on an even plane?
