We have one in the U.K. it's called a Nightjar.
Potoo, Frogmouth and Nightjars are quite closely related.

never heard of the term 'nightjar' before... here we call the same bird a 'night hawk' and i've heard people call it a 'goatsucker' before

that's what i read.. i just didnt know that. i dont know much about night hawks really... since i dont see them often (i hear them at dusk and see them catching bug way up high but that's about it. i never see them land or perched)... and i never understood the 'goatsucker' thing until i looked it up today.

They're crepuscular (I think that's how you spell it, great word but you have to be careful how you spell it )
