And those who survived don't really give a shit about human rights these days. I don't justify any of that shit there but think of those crimes Israel's been doing since.

When I was in high school, they made me read Night by Elie Wiesel. At first, I was just going to look up the synopsis on the internet and take the test like I always did. Well, I got to thinking about it and, well, shit... The book was about as thick as my pinky finger and looked a hell of a lot more interesting than Beowulf. I started reading it, and I read it in one night. I couldn't put the fucking thing down. It was written by a survivor from the Buchenwald camp. As I recall, the only survivor of his family that went there. If you haven't read it, I recommend it. Truly fucked up shit. It's almost unconscianable that something like this happened less than a century ago in a country that's considered one of the most advanced in the world today.

very sad post. my grandfather was a WWII vet. 3 years in europe. i have his footlocker which is full of photographs, some he took, others he just collected from the clerks office at the end when they photos were declassified. i guess he understood the historical significance. i recently found some pics tucked away in the footlocker, of various concentration camps, some of them very graphic. there are pictures showing the same places pictured in this video. i'll try to post them.
