I don't think it was, it saved a lot of people from dying. U.S military and japanese military and more important.....civilians. Cause the first ones that would be getting sent in would have been the marine division and they were fucking animals by that point. They never had any R&R time like the boys in Europe....they were warriors in every sense and killers by that time. No one would have been spared by them if they had to invade!
