Biggest Crocodile Ever Captured
A video of this modern dinosaur showed up about a month ago, and it was very hard to tell whether it was fake. It's still pretty amazing footage, so you can decide for yourself.

Re: Biggest Crocodile Ever Captured
Wikipedia has this to say about age: There is no reliable way of measuring crocodile age, although several techniques are used to derive a reasonable guess. The most common method is to measure lamellar growth rings in bones and teeth—each ring corresponds to a change in growth rate which typically occurs once a year between dry and wet seasons. Bearing these inaccuracies in mind, the oldest crocodilians appear to be the largest species. C. porosus is estimated to live around 70 years on average, and there is limited evidence that some individuals may exceed 100 years. One of the oldest crocodiles recorded died in a zoo in Russia. A male freshwater crocodile at the Australia Zoo is estimated to be 130 years old. He was rescued from the wild by Bob Irwin and Steve Irwin after being shot twice by hunters. As a result of the shootings, this crocodile (known affectionately as "Mr. Freshy") has lost his right eye. |

Re: Biggest Crocodile Ever Captured
That one is only about 4m long. The way is has been filmed makes it look bigger than it really is. The crocs here in Australia can grow to be fucking huge things because they're a protected species. Australia Zoo has one called Rocky that's over 5m long. He's a saltwater croc and is about 30 years old. They had a bigger one but Rocky killed it a while ago, that one was over 6m long. Saltwater crocs are bigger that fresh water crocs and more dangerous because they are more agressive. Having said this i wouldn't swim with either type because they will still eat you.
