New SF Bay Bridge

Peterson CAT's San Leandro Field Welders K. S. & J. K. performed a very unique job at the new Bay Bridge construction site. The job required they relocate 4 shear keys to a new location while working on narrow scaffolding over several hundred feet above the bay waters. Safety was paramount as evidenced by the full body harnesses and lanyards tying them to the structure.Click image for larger version

Earthquake proof. I have passed by that bridge several times.

Nice, I used to make weekly trips across that for my job.

Re: New SF Bay Bridge

This is pretty cool. I live in the sunset district and travel over the bay bridge to the east bay regularly. I have seen the contruction going on but I have never seen the underside of it. It looks very attractive

Re: New SF Bay Bridge

Now there's another opening delay. The bolts that tie the roadway to the seismic columns have failed torque testing. Over 30% snapped.
