We get cyclones here and some monsters too, but we're prepared two to three days ahead of it with the warning system here in Australia. My brother lives in Alabama and he told me that sirens were going off at touch down of some tornado's. No warning really. They're just there. Unpredictability is one scary mother.

Nice post, I really dread this time of year especially living in Oklahoma. Thankfully we haven't had a huge outbreak of them yet.

hell i lived in the path of the tornadoes in NC, in a damn trailer park. the TV said to seek shelter so we did. the tornado touched down about 2 miles farther up the road at a school.
Did you go to the school for shelter?

Re: April 25–28, 2011 tornado outbreak. Southern and Eastern United States

Saw one split into a rare double tornado 3 blocks from my house in Nashville TN in 1973. Baseball size hail & debris in our yard. Destroyed my elementary school. I was 10. My first reaction was to put on my shoes, then crawl under my bed.
I have also experienced dozens of hurricanes. The first I remember was Alma in 1968. We spent the night in the J.M. Fields store my Father managed. I remember the large glass store-front windows bowing in from the pressure. Our home was spared.
Mother Nature is no fucking joke. Respect her power.
