wow, what a pain in the rear!! my cousins in texas always complained about ants and as a kid i though 'phhht... ants are ants... we all have ants' ... i was obviously wrong those seem a bit nastier than the funnel ants and little black ants we have

A couple tablespoons of Amdro and they are toast. Then you can watch them carry out the dead, there will be thousands of them.

Yeah, we are overrun with fire ants. Have been for years and now it's leaf cutters and a new one known here as crazy ants. Jeesh.
Ever been stung by a fire ant? It's not pretty.

no sir... im not even sure we have them here we have red ants people call fire ants and i've been bitten by those... i can tell you (compared to what i've heard from others) that it was for sure not a fire ant. it was just a light pinch....

my cousin in Texas fell into a fire ant nest as a kid and i heard his horror story... i've never experienced anything like that with ants up here though.

i think the only really damaging ant we have up here are carpenter ants (which i've seen eat nearly all the studs in a wall once) but that's common everywhere i think, isnt it?

Yeah, carpenter ants don't use hammers and nails, just saws and drills. Maybe even dynamite.

I've often wondered if fire ants get their sting from eating hot peppers.
