Abandoned Village and a Huge Radio Telescope
Irbene is an abandoned town that used to be a military center with a developed infrastructure. The station of space surveillance Zvezdochka has not been there on the maps till 1993. There is an opinion that one of the telescopes was used to bug phone conversations of the US State Department and submarine centers of Norway.

Re: Abandoned Village and a Huge Radio Telescope
I could be wrong but I believe a satellite is something that travels around another object, did you mean a satellite receiver? In that case I thinks your on the right "wave length" (see what I did there..wave length satelli.....ok I'll leave the funnies to funny people) but yeah it would be able to receive satellite signals :)

Re: Abandoned Village and a Huge Radio Telescope
I do find these places sad in a way, all that technology and the money it cost rusting away....just think how many people that money could have fed...hospitals built and lives saved and so on....its a shame war is such good fun!
