The intervention in Libya was actually pre-planned by French president Nicholas Sarkozy many months prior to the whole riot thing. Gaddafi had previously made a deal with the French Government to buy Rafale fighters and to set up Civil Nuclear plants. Now Gaddafi for some reason cancelled these agreements. Sarkozy wasn't too happy about this and colluded with Britain to create problems in Libya. Sarkozy is literally using this to regain his political image and stand again for elections. All this came to light after the defection of one of Gaddafi's ministers to Paris. |
