I'd think a better way to mitigate violent crimes long-term would be to mitigate factors which contribute to them. I'm no expert, but from what I gather, some of those factors are said to include the war on drugs (surprisingly under-discussed, especially with regards to the late Breonna Taylor), class disparity, education, and fatherless homes.

The only thing that should be used to justify a shooting is the evidence gathered at the scene of the shooting. You are correct, criminal history does not justify or condemn a police shooting.

what i dont get why resist arrest and get into a fight with them? i think any officer who kills a perp with their back turned or while they are on the floor cuffed and no resisting deserves the chair....but if you are fighting anything could go down
