Re: Video From Patrick Crusius & The El Paso Walmart Shooting
You say all that as folks get stabbed and ran over by vehicles on the reg in the UK. Same shit different method. At least we have the choice to have a chance of defending ourselves. I will give my life keep my 2nd amendment right to have firearms for self defense.

I live in Texas, have for most of my life. I'd almost guarantee at least 1 person was packing there. And they probably were just scared shitless and cared more about getting to safety than pursuing a gunmen. Most people are going to run rather than have a gun battle. Wal Mart with their billions of dollars in profits each year. And their no gun zone policy, should imo hire off duty cops as security. |

Wal Mart has great surveillance cameras. If their cameras show shitty footage its because someone made it that way. Because they are for profit, and Walmart is probably the most stolen from store in America. A 50 thousand dollar camera system would pay for itself within a year. |

Re: Video From Patrick Crusius & The El Paso Walmart Shooting
I'm not criticising you for defending yourself, in your situation, I probably would too, but surely you can see that the guns are the problem in the first place? You're carrying a gun to protect yourself from someone who may (or may not be) carrying a gun. By the way, people getting stabbed or run over really isn't that common and it's mostly isolated to London. The amount of deaths in these cases are minimal by comparison. |

Re: Video From Patrick Crusius & The El Paso Walmart Shooting
interesting. Your defense is ignorant and shows how stupid and uneducated you are. No, it's not the same shit, I've had one knife pulled on me an I was able to defend myself while getting very minor cuts on my forearm. The playing field is more level. They [UK] also have the chance to defend themselves... I've also had people swing on me plenty of times trying to rob me (five total, three just fighting, one with a knife and one guy while I was skating down a dark Street. May have had a gun I don't know but he was coming the other direction, turned on his brights ten feet from me and slammed on his brakes heading in my direction. Before he even finished his sentence (give me all your money) I was jumping the concrete wall to my right). I have plenty of scars and chipped teeth because I'm not afraid to be a man and use my hands and don't cry and hide behind a second amendment. Your ignorance is sad. |

Re: Video From Patrick Crusius & The El Paso Walmart Shooting
Obviously, laying a fully loaded firearm on the table, and then leaving it there for anyone to come along and access it is stupid. That would be negligent, as I mentioned in my post. The point I was making is that the gun isn't going to just fire by itself unless someone comes along and pulls the trigger. I do agree that not everyone should be carrying a firearm on them. However, I do believe that people absolutely have the right to do so, and should undergo some form of training to be proficient enough to own and EDC a firearm. That said, even people who have been well trained in handling firearms can be negligent at times. As with anything that involves humans, there are no guarantees that mistakes will not be made. In regards to these mass shootings, firearms are not the problem. Mental health is the issue, and figuring out how to keep firearms out of the hands of mentally ill people is the hard part. Even if they can't buy the gun legally, there's no stopping them from doing it through illegal means. In these instances, sadly, where there is a will, there is a way.
