I just found out about this case today. I came across it on a TV chat board, oddly enough. This reminds me a bit of the Angela Simpson case (where she, a black woman, tortured and murdered a disabled white man). I read detailed information on that and it was brutal. I am not too sure how much coverage that murder got as I am American but living in the UK, but I expect that it did not get as much as it would have gotten if the races were reversed, much like this case.
I am no racist but I do believe that, if the races were reversed, this would have caused quite am uproar!
My family lives in a very racist part of NC. There are no non-white families living in the community (my "crappy" grandparents lived here and slowly more and more of my NY family moved there as well so it is not so bad now). Years ago, when I was still in America, a black family moved into the neighborhood. That did not sit well with the local yokels but they just talked shit about it to eachother and did nothing to harass the family. A group of idiots I went to school with decided that it would be funny to burn a cross on their lawn. Well, those idiots were put in prison for 4 years each. The coverage was ridiculous and it came out that the NAACP had placed the family there in the hopes of something like that happening, yet nothing was said against the NAACP doing this, whch, to me, is entrapment and just plain sick. This was a first-time offense for all involved and while I HATE these kids with a passion (years of being called a fat, ugly Yankee and being bullied and hurt because I was from New York) I do not think that they deserved what they got. They were all minors at the time and were automatically tried as adults, fined as well and all but one family had to move because they started getting harassed by black people. Nothing was done about that. Granted, this was not even close to what was done to these poor kids in the story, but it shows how race factors into so much and that people are terrified of saying anythig to offend minorities. I am sorry, but stereotypes come from somewhere. Every single person can fit into some sort of stereotype. Hell, I do.
It is really sad. I cannot imagine what these two kids went through at the hands of these animals. I see no motive here except pure and utter evil. The same evil that was inside those fuckers from Ukraine. At least serial killers have reason, feeble as it is.
