A tragic shooting at the Oneida Casino in Green Bay, Wisconsin, on Saturday night resulted in the deaths of two individuals and left a third seriously wounded. The gunman, whose attack seems to have been targeted, was subsequently shot and killed by police in the incident.

According to Brown County Sheriff's Lt. Kevin Pawlak, the investigation suggests that the gunman was targeting a specific individual with whom he had a grievance. However, the intended target was not present at the casino at the time of the attack. The shooter, in what appears to be a fit of anger, then turned his weapon on associates or friends of the intended victim, resulting in the fatalities and injury.

The incident, which unfolded around 7:30 p.m. at the Oneida Casino, operated by the Oneida Nation, caused panic among patrons. Witness accounts indicate that the shooter opened fire in a casino restaurant, prompting people to flee the scene in fear. Jawad Yatim, a witness at the casino, reported hearing at least two people being shot and described the shooting as aggressive.

Max Westphal, who was evacuated from the casino initially due to what was thought to be a minor issue, recounted hearing a barrage of gunshots — around 20 to 30 shots — and spoke of the rapid response by law enforcement. He described seeing a significant number of police vehicles rushing to the scene.

Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul confirmed later in the evening via Twitter that the situation was contained and that there was no further threat to the community. However, details were still emerging at the time.

Bobbi Webster, a spokesperson for the Oneida Nation, confirmed that individuals had been shot, though detailed information on the number of victims and their conditions was not immediately available. The Oneida Casino is part of a larger complex that includes the Radisson hotel and conference center, also owned by the Oneida Nation.

Governor Tony Evers expressed his devastation over the events and extended his hopes and prayers for the recovery of the injured. He acknowledged the swift response of the first responders to the crisis.

Beautiful sound quality, amazingly crisp and penetrating, yet carrying the echo with every single round (the relative location of the buildings and their structure, coupled with the type of weapon, muzzle velocity, ammunition—all create an incredibly vivid, peremptory sound effect).

Well it didn't take long for someone to bring politics into yet another mass shooting event.

I hate to break it to you... but there are multiple mass shootings every day. We only hear about the ones the mainstream media wants you to hear about. Think about that. If you look at the pic below... there were at least 5 mass shootings that took place yesterday. But because the most people died in Wisconsin, we are hearing all about it. There are days in past years where there were more than one and the media did not report ANY of them.

This shooter targeted someone who worked at the casino, who was not present... so instead he shot that persons friends. He was also affiliated with the casino in some way, likely previously employed there.

Also, think about WHY they are becoming more prolific... look at the current state of the country and how divided it is. Some would blame Trump for that division. One might argue another point that the deadliest mass shooting in US history occurred during his administration. (2017 Las Vegas)

It would be interesting, however, to study the political affiliation, if any, of all of these perpetrators and see what those numbers look like.

It's more a phenomena that's a direct result of a person's social circumstances. And as we all drift further apart from one another, more and more people will feel alienated or misunderstood, which over time can effect their mental health.

Mental health is also a huge factor in these situations, which has little to do with who is in power.

The more these shootings take place, the more the disenfranchised are going to see this as their best option of retribution or ending of their suffering.

According to The Violence Project, nearly all mass shooters have four things in common:

Early childhood trauma and exposure to violence at a young age
An identifiable grievance or crisis point
Have studied the actions of past shooters and seek validation for their methods and motives
The means to carry out an attack

So you can't verifiably relate the reasons for their occurrences to any one president in office. Typically, mass shooters don't spontaneously decide to go shoot up a place... not all, but most, spend a period of time before-hand planning or obsessing about their actions.

Mass shootings are technically defined as 3 (or 4 in some studies) or more people being killed or injured, shot in public.
