I suspect foul play. If it was an accident, the school should have no problem releasing CCTV footage of what happened. The fact they won't and the way the case was handled sounds like they're covering up. No high school kid is stupid enough to get rolled up in a mat. Elementary kids, I can see, not a grown ass dude.

I agree with a head down for the slippage, swelling, and conjunctival hemorrhage - of curiosity to me it the up turn of the upper lip - when this kid 'slid' into the mat, he would still be alive - was he so tightly packed in that the lip pushed upward and he could not move it? I would think that he would have had to be unconcious for that much immobility. However, if his head was turned chin to chest, he could have compressed his carotid arteries, stopping his heart with death occurring within a several seconds. If the compression was affecting chest excursion, he would not have died quickly - why didn't he call out - vocal would still be functional for some minutes. He's a big kid. Would he be too jammed in to rock and the mat tip over, because if he was that jammed in - how did he do that - the space taken up by the shoulders would have left his head some freedom to move below the most occluded area. He could have yelled, and that doesn't explain the lip. He also has abrasians in several areas and some skin tearing that is too clean edged for slippage and in areas that are uncommon. There's more to this story - but no one will probably ever know - wish knew the position of his head when he was unrolled. Otherwise, something is not quite right.

Not sure if it's been commented yet, but His family also found he was stuffed with newspaper instead of a proper embalming. Very odd case from start to finish.

There are too many things in this case that really make me think this wasn’t an accidental death. Like some people have mentioned already, he seemed like a big guy and could’ve at least made an attempt to get out of the mat... maybe wiggling around? That should’ve at least done something, maybe toppled the mat over? And the fact that his shoulder width was much larger than that of the top entrance of the mat just doesn’t make sense. Also how would you explain the blood splatters found around the scene? And why are significant parts of the security footage missing??
I think some points that some of you guys made are pretty interesting though, like some of you mentioned that his autopsy picture is really very different from what he looked like while he was alive. And obviously, bloating and decomp would play a v significant role in altering his body’s appearance,,, but still that’s a very interesting thing to consider I guess.
Idk, I feel like the case wasn’t about race. I wish we knew more!

I guarantee the autopsy should no signs of bruises or broken bones or other signs of beating on his face and skull. I think they just need to see the facts of it. Maybe people just dont understand how a body rots. If he wasnt upside down in there then his feet would be swelled like balloons. being as his head was down thats where all the bodily fluids went, straight to his melon.

The only people claiming that Kendrick was beaten to death are the Johnsons and their supporters. And for what it’s worth, Dr. Anderson is now a private pathologist after being fired from the state of Florida for a myriad of unprofessional and unethical actions on his part.

The photo of Kendrick’s post-mortem face made famous by his parents, who place it on large signs to display at their public rallies and post it all over Facebook is usually the tipping point for many people to agree with them about Kendrick being beaten to death. Most people believe that is how Kendrick looked when he was pulled out of the mat. But THIS is actually how Kendrick looked when he was pulled out of the mat.

The photo the Johnsons use for shock value is Kendrick post-autopsy, after the skin of his face was peeled back to examine the underlying muscles.

Now i feel my initial assessment was correct. Nothing to see here but a tragic accident.

I cant answer that. But if indeed video exists of him getting into the mat by himself or by being placed in there, the coroners office and DA would've seen it.

Going head first in a dark tall standing mat, to retrieve a shoes doesn’t sound realistic. Don’t you think he would’ve moved the mat flat down and grabbed his shoe
