This kind of thing shows just how Godforsaken and nihilistic reality is. Incidents such as this will occur with high frequency until the USA regulates private gun ownership as tightly as the U.S. or Japan. You should also adopt the Japanese death-sentence system. In Japan the worst offenders are still hung, but crucially they don't tell you the date that you will be executed. Could be in a month's time, might be in a year. Some prisoners literally go insane with paranoia and fear. A fitting punishment for acts such as this.
