William "Bill" Suff, an American serial killer, was convicted of murdering numerous women in Riverside County, California, during the late 1980s and early 1990s. His crimes earned him the nickname "The Riverside Prostitute Killer."

Suff was initially arrested in 1991. His criminal activities involved picking up prostitutes and other vulnerable women, murdering them, and then dumping their bodies in various locations across Riverside County. The victims often showed signs of brutal physical abuse, sexual assault, and strangulation.

The investigation into these killings was extensive and complex, involving multiple law enforcement agencies. Evidence linking Suff to the murders included DNA, fibers from his vehicle and home, and, in some instances, personal possessions of the victims found in his possession.

In 1995, William Suff was found guilty of the murder of 12 women and was sentenced to death. The trial revealed a disturbing pattern of violence and predatory behavior. Prior to his crimes in California, Suff had previously served time in Texas for the murder of his two-month-old daughter, a conviction that initially led to a 70-year sentence but he was paroled in 1984 after serving only 10 years.
