it is very sad...i just hope that at least for some, the clarity of the choice and the realization of finality brought a sort of peace and a victory over fear...clearly the guy who long-jumped to the church parking lot decided he was gonna go like a rockstar...

True. I think the only difference was that some figured it out sooner than others. That was the case with the guy in the video. There are actuall recordings of that conversation.

The woman was still on the phone with the Port Authority when it happened. You here the woman say don't, the people in the background say oh my God, he jumped.

They did land about 15 feet away. It's Van Esson and Rudy. A man landed almost on Van Esson as he was coming out to tell Rudy what was going on.
