Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
Yea I watched the video when you posted it first. OVER AND OVER I can assure you. I had no idea an actual "mist" would appear. I learned something new. It was a shock. I guess I didn't know what I was looking at in the video of the plaza. This whole post is fascinating to me. I was only 15 when 9-11 happened. As I've grown older the whole event seems to take a whole new meaning to me. The scope of it, and just putting myself in the shoes of people who jumped, in the plane, at the ground. Its almost too difficult to fathom. Bill, I wanted to know about yours, and if anyone wants to contribute, their own story of what they saw with their own eyes. I think that you had already posted something Bill, but I wasn't sure if that was your own experience or not. Could you point me to that post if it is your own experience. Thanks. |

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
It does. What did it sound like when you were there? Sirens I imagine? What went through my mind when it all happened was that this is surreal, this is not even possible to happen, yet its in front of you, in my case, on the tv screen, and after about an hour you accept it as reality and just try to deal with it. When your there in person, is it the same thing? What is it like to see something so unreal, so unbelievable actually happen in front of you, no reenactments, no censoring, no tv screen buffer in front of you. what it loud or quite? Sorry I'm just so fascinated by it all. After almost 11 years its still wow to me.

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
It seemed surreal while in the lower levels of the complex. Upon coming up, it seemed like the end of the world to be honest. Some people were truely freaking out, but others(mostly New Yorkers) were calm as could be, like nothing was going on. I guess they have seen so much shit, it did not affect them the same way right away. There were alarms from both towers, the lower levels, sirens, cops yelling, EMS yelling, people screaming when people fell or jumped, people screaming in pain from burns, broken bones........you name it. It all joined together to make a concert of hell, and you had no choice of wanting to hear it or not. You could and would hear it, and somethings you would feel as well. Parts of the facade would come down, hit and it would reverbirate throughout the complex. People would hit and explode everywhere, and you would feet them hit the ground, even from about 50 feet away. They could be heard hitting for up to 6 blocks away. Somethings you wish you could forget, but it was all tied together. You can't forget one thing, but remember another when it is all intertwined like that. You just deal with it the best way you can. |

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
There were more than just a couple of people that jumped holding hands, some were pulled apart from the force of their fall, some where not. There are three people in this picture.

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
I asked a while back how many jumpers could you all count in a certain picture. Nobody responded, and that's fine. I just wanted to know if anyone had about the same "bodycount" as me. "Bodycount" is used loosely because they were parts of bodies, not whole bodies.

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
Bill, massive Kudos once again for the awesome thread and keeping it going, but how (at that resolution at least) can you tell what's human remains and what's debris? I think that's my main qualm with all of the images in these threads- seems to be loads of pictures with claims of human remains yet the pictures aren't big enough to ascertain what they are. Not knocking you down mate, obviously, just skeptical that they're actually human remains. |

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
I agree Bluegill, is it b/c you were there and saw it first hand? I have no idea half the time what I am looking at. It is not until after you circle or 'square' the pics that I think I can see something that is not supposed to be there. Have you seen the NIST photos?
