Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
I saw it on the GI section, but googled it on Youtube. I watched a few videos you suggested. The one by Tami Michaels was really scary to me. The emotions were truly raw, but I really liked the Naudet documentary b/c it was personalized and not really dramatized. I mean they even show the firefighter puking his guts out in one scene. It really shows just how bad that day was in all aspects. The conversation between you and John kind of threw me off b/c the 'rants' are soooo long-winded. I feel like John was being mean to you and adding insult to injury so I couldn't really finish reading that thread. I just stay on this one b/c I like where this one is going.

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
That is how it did me for the longest time too. Still does at times too, no use in me lying about it, it has warped me. That in turn has warped my wife as well. She puts up with me at times, though I know she would like to crack my fuckin' skull open. It has been ten years, and some people who were younger then are now picking up on just how pivitol an event it was. It litterally changed the world we live in, and will continue to change our lives for some time to come. I have to say, it is rather refreshing to come across people who are willing to learn everything they can about it. The WE WILL NEVER FORGET crowd seems to have developed amneisia. |

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
One thing to understand about John, he is incredibly smart. Sometimes the brighter a person is, the more eccentric they are. I think he thought I was full full of shit and did not know what I was talking about, but he has since showed respect, and that's really all I asked from him. On the other hand, read the last couple of posts I put up about the towers' cores, it might be quite interesting to you, and I assure you it is true. |

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
I see now what you were asking I think. If I misunderstood you, just let me know. Dug a grave earlier today, and it was on a steep hill, not to mention the ground was wet. Could not use the backhoe to move the excess dirt, had to wheelbarrel about 18 wheelbarrels of dirt off. It has been a fucked up day, and you can already tell, my mind is not all here. The one with the visiable flesh was taken on Liberty Street. The other was taken coming up from sub-levels, and hearing the bangs again. |

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
Yes, I figured the 'moving on up picture' was from you as I have never seen that online before. The visible flesh I figured after it was reposted on the thread. No misunderstandings at all! Keeping in tune with what happened on 9/11 I think helps me to put in perspective what is really important in life. I can honestly say that I view the world differently and do things differently now for the better. It's as almost I have a new lease on life b/c I appreciate everything and I am more patient with others. You just never know what God has in store for us. I pray for all the victims and families affected. I try to be the best person I can to everyone b/c we never what may happen to us tomorrow. Bill, whether you know it or not, you have affected many lives with the pictures you posted. Many of us are having a awakening on this event, and realizing just how bad and serious and evil this day was. Like I said earlier, I thought 9/11 was faked before I came across your thread b/c of building 7. Now I know it was truly real. Whether or not our govt knew about it or not--well I don't know, but to me the most relevant thing about his event is that evil exists, but so does good and so does love. I hope one day I can help those that have been affected by 9/11, and will do everything I can in the time being to prepare myself in the meantime. Sorry for the long-windedness.

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
I will revisit the other thread about the columns. I am glad John showed you some respect. You never know how you may affect people nowadays, so I feel like we should be sensitive about the things we say pertaining to 9/11.

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
No reason to apologize, I would rather you speak your mind even if it took two pages, rather than say nothing at all. If nothing else, I just hope this helps people understand how fast life can and does change sometimes, and to try to appreciate what they have, because it could always be worse. You can be working in a corner office that you worked your ass off to get in a skyscraper one minute, then plunging 1000 feet to your death to keep from burning alive the next. I had another memeber make some rude comments to me a while back, saying I was obsessed with 9/11, and to an extent that is true. They went on to say that 9/11 is my expertise, and that is when I said something. I told them it was not my expertise, it is something I deal with everyday. I guess some wont understand unless they have to experience something similar. To be honest, I would rather a person remain ignorant of it than have to experience it. Some might consider that to be an insult, but ignorant just means unlearned of a subject. I would rather them not experience it and think what they want to, rather than experience it and say now I understand what you were talking about. I am by no means an expert, I have just tried to learn everything I could about a day that so drasticlly changed me, and everyone else, even if others do not realize it. |

Re: A REAL World Trade Center Jumper
Yes, you have some things you can't get rid of either then. What sticks with you more than anything else ? I can guess, but I might be wrong, so I wont speculate on it. Where you NYPD or FDNY ? At any rate, I am glad you made it out alive, so many didn't. |
