Wow, I've seen the picture of the ghost in the stair case before but never knew anything about it until now! Great work! |

Re: The Real Amityville Horror Crime Scene Pictures
Have a real interest in this being on Long Island. My take on it was that DeFeo was a drug addict who was pissed at his father because he wouldn't give him some money to fuel his habit. So he killed him, and wound up killing everyone else because, I don't know, once you kill one family member, why not kill them all. He may have been high on drugs. He said he heard voices probably to bolster an insanity defense. No one bought it at the time, and I don't buy it now. I think he later admitted as much later on. The Lutz moved in, knew the history, probably learned more of it afterwards, and it eventually creeped them out. There were probably still blood stains around. Also, the house was not a mansion. I've seen it, it's a relatively small house on a small street. The house they used in the original movie was actually in Jersey. It is also right on the water, so who knows what kind of swamp fumes permeated that house. It was a terrible tragedy, but nothing supernatural in my opinion. |
