No idea, but thank God he did. Watching video of people falling from ground level was getting kind of old. Brian Velasco was a pioneer. You can’t get a first person perspective like that for a million dollars. As sad as it is that he felt he had to end his life, I hope the next person who decides to film it will use a GoPro and a $7 head strap, though I don’t know if you can do a Facebook livestream with one of those. It’s not about the phone he had that we have this video, it’s the fact that it was live-streamed to the FB servers in real time. But the HD video quality would have been amazing on a jump like that.

My brother tried to livestream using GoPro and Facebook Live, and it worked well. There are a bunch of tutorials on how to do so, along with Twitter, Periscope, etc.
