Gacy was a contractor, so many of the neighbors and victims didn't think give a lot of thought of why he was constantly "renovating" his house. Actually, those that visited his home and lived to tell about it often spoke of the "smell" emanating from his basement. There's a book out about him that goes through all the gory details of how he lured his victims in, and how he ended their lives. Really disturbing account of a sadistic madman.

I dont have the name right here, but there was a book written by his psychiatrist, who also studied several serial killers. His name is Vronsky, shouldnt be hard to find.
Also, his FBI file is now online and can be downloaded. Same with Bundy.
