What I don't understand is why wasn't he institutionalised? Put in a mental hospital? Surely, if someone throwing shit at people, banging their head til it bleeds and acting so aggressive, they would have been sectioned a long time ago? All a Doctor or cop had to do was attend a 'concert' and see his condition then file for a psych hold. What concerns me is that he was deeply, deeply mentally depraved. His behaviour - even for that type of music - was simply not normal. Why didn't anyone give him the help that he so desperately needed? If he didn't qualify for a 5150, NO ONE DID!

The funeral took place on July 3, 1993 in his native New Hampshire, at the St. Rose Cemetery, Littleton. At his funeral, Allin's bloated, unpreserved corpse was dressed in his black leather jacket and trademark jock strap. He had a bottle of Jim Beam beside him in his casket, per his wishes (openly stated in his self-penned acoustic country ballad, "When I Die"). As part of his brother's request, the mortician was instructed not to wash the corpse (which smelled strongly of feces) or apply any make-up. Allin's funeral became a low-level party. Friends posed with his corpse, placing drugs and whiskey into his mouth. As the funeral ended, his brother put a pair of headphones on Allin. The headphones were plugged into a portable cassette player, in which was loaded a copy of The Suicide Sessions. He was a classy dude. R.i.s Rot in shit and he did, and most probably loved it. |

GG Allin's grave was frequently vandalized with urine, cigarette butts, feces and alcohol by fans, an act that was greatly discouraged by GG's mother Arleta. His tombstone has since been removed because of this.  |
