I'm glad you asked... Since no law could have prevented this, there is an obvious fallacy in your question. You are falsely assuming that anyone actually believed that open-carry is the end all of violent crime. No law can do that. This scumbag was holed up in a room, with a secured vantage -point. Now, let me destroy your misconception with a logical comparison... By your logic, if 'something' doesn't fix EVERY possible scenario, then that something should be abandoned and is of no use. As I'm sure you are aware by being a member of this site, many ppl STILL die every day in car crashes; despite wearing seatbelts and having airbags installed. Therefore, seatbelts and airbags should be declared useless, since they don't ALWAYS save lives... This fuckhead was a nutjob who aquired illegal weapons. No law would have prevented this. Even if ALL weapons were declared illegal, guess what? This would have happened anyway....  |

another stupid comparison. seatbelts and airbags do save lives you dumbass.. it's preventative. having lots of guns doesn't save lives. guns are meant to end lives....that is their sole purpose. the purpose of an airbag is to prevent your dumbass from fully absorbing the shock of a crash, same with seatlbelts...otherwise you will go through the damn windshield. dumbass guns end lives..and the shooter ended a bunch just recently. |

You, my friend, completely missed the point here. Of course guns are meant to end lives. Some lives are a threat to many others. The argument here is about control. Specifically gun control. You might believe that making guns illegal will magically make all guns disappear... but it won't. In fact, that would create a boost in more people aquiring guns illegally. Do you really think boosting black market weapons economy is a good idea? |

Not every violent act is terrorism. Motives matter. Maybe he was just mad at the world, maybe he was crazy, maybe he just wanted to die and take a bunch of people with him. Terrorism by definition has political agenda behind the act. So it's possible it's not terrorism. But just a violent act by a crazy mf. |
