Police no closer to finding a motive then. I honestly don’t think they ever will. At least, one that makes sense. I think the motive was that he was a grumpy belligerent asshole with a temper and a massive arsenal of weapons who woke up one day, decided everyone else was having more fun in their life than he was, so he planned to put a stop to it. Sometimes people are just evil. |

It goes a lot deeper than just some asshole with guns. He checked into the hotel with a second person. Who was the second person? I have a feeling there is a lot more to this massacre than just some disgruntled old man with a trigger finger. |

Where have you read that? I’ve not seen any mention of checking in with someone else. Unless he left a clear manifesto like Breivik, I see no reason why he’d do it - there were other festivals he may have targeted but this one was it. No affiliations, no clear beliefs, nothing. He just wanted to kill as many as possible. He was totally crazy. I think attempting to assign a deeper meaning gives him more credit than he deserves. |

Obviously just speculating here, but this is probably exactly what Paddock wanted: Maximum coverage from a scene that would be impossible for the authorities to secure and cordon off from the public, where everyone would have their cell phones out. Not a darkly-lit theater where no one would be recording, or an elementary school in some rural town, but a massive killing field stretching over several acres that pretty much anyone could access. He wanted to make sure that no one could call it a hoax.

About 39 seconds in on the second video, there's a guy standing in black with his arms in the air. He's behind a guy wearing an American flag shirt. You can see he gets shot during one of the bursts and drops.
