Re: Pictures & Videos From The Mass Shooting at Las Vegas Concert
So would it be fair to you if it was left up to me to decide you can't take a bullet, but must die the most horrible way possible? I bet Lee was thinking how wonderful a bullet to the brain would have felt compared to that butcher knife chopping at his throat, but wouldn't know, since people like you decided for him. Oh but no guns slows the idea of people wanting to murder though! The dude had two knives, so, I guess he took his time deciding he would murder, gun or not. |

Re: Pictures & Videos From The Mass Shooting at Las Vegas Concert
Some people determined to kill, will select the most accessible weapon that will do most harm...we should ensure they have the least amount of choice, not the most. You want to ARM potential assailants???? Others (especially the suicidal or those with a temper "in the moment") will stop if not able to access a weapon that affords convenient distance (i.e. a gun). A pause in behaviour often leads to a change in attitude, and, if even for a moment, it mitigate against a conflict. I doubt it. His body was smashed against a sign post by the car the assailants drove into him. A small mercy perhaps. They used the car to murder, and the knife to multiply fear in the minds of the paranoid....but they didn't fully succeed with the knife and decided to have a chat with a few passers by instead. Us Brits - we chat to small time terrorists and just shuffle past them. It seems they were not worthy of fear. You fear them, and they get some of what they desire. You kill them - they become a cause célèbre for others. |

Re: Pictures & Videos From The Mass Shooting at Las Vegas Concert
I justify prison for those who attempt or plan harm to others...no matter the religion, gender, sexual orientation, race or other descriptor. I justify prison for those who encourage real violence via their communication...no matter the religion, gender, sexual orientation, race or other descriptor. I'm not in favour of the death penalty, but neither would I defend someone who reached that fate by virtue of proven murder or serious assault (sexual or otherwise)...no matter the religion, gender, sexual orientation, race or other descriptor. I object to hate speech, but I believe we must all tolerate it and not have it banned. For one person's hate is another's cry for freedom. |

Ah I see. So you figure people bent on becoming murderers will decide to go back to updating facebook instead of killing if guns are not on the conscious minds as being easily obtained? Interesting. Would that mean if we dropped a stock load of guns into UK, you'd all become brainless murdering asshole in its current demographic state? |
