Re: Photos of Daniel Shaver After He Was Shot by Police
Police are trained to identity a weapon or not they actually spend hours and hours on the gun range working shoot don't shoot scenarios. In my job I have extreme leeway in deciding to shoot or not. Our ROE says if we catch someone with a video camera pointed at us they are up for neutralization. Cops on the other hand do not have such loose rules governing them. Teaching police firearms ranges took up a bit of my life. This murder victim could have had an itch his pants may have been falling down. There are endless scenarios. Here are the facts an officer must identify an actual weapon before escalating the use of force to deadly force. Most of us are ex cops or worked with law enforcement in some capacity. Here is the reality ALL POLICE HAVE A DESIRE TO USE THEIR WEAPON. Those who say they don't are lying. Here are the statistical facts anyone can look them up. According to the FBIs statistics by use of interviews and profiling. 1) over 88% of those who desire to be police were bullied while growing up. 2) The practice of training officers in two week blocks of academy time are dedicated to how to state what the officers intent was and memorizing how to state that the officer feared for his own life or the life of " the third person. 3) officer discretion is exactly what it sounds like, officers have a wide discretion in not only writing tickets but in the use of escalating force. 4) the FBIs findings were more often than not the officer chose to escalate force in calm situations where the FBI found that there were many outcomes that would have called for no force. 5) officers who are more likely to use force are those who have failed to make the cut for SWAT, SRT or other more aggressive police units. There are many more findings but they are available on the Internet to read through .gov and .edu sites. Though I am not a fan of the NAACP you can also find the same information I have shared here. Remember police have a genuine belief in the saying " everyone is a criminal" notice police officers have nothing but other cop friends with few exceptions. The US is a police state. These are not my political points. These are facts. When approached by police do not produce ID demand to know what you have done. Know the law. You are free. I work in places now that I am divorced that are no different really than working in south central LA. Cops refer to almost every area they work is a war zone. NO! I work in war zones. Three weeks ago I was sleeping 40' from a pile of dead people. There is no reason for police to have up armored vehicles. They are not the military but they are recognized as a para military organization. In closing under the constitution of the United States Of America the only legitimately law enforcement agent is the sheriff. STAND AGAINST TYRANNY! |

Re: Photos of Daniel Shaver After He Was Shot by Police
The police are supposedly taunting the widow. She is in Arizona for the trial today and yesterday. She is fighting to view the officer's body cam footage. There is one woman in particular who is taunting Daniels widow on facebook by trying to discredit Daniel's wife (now widow) on the Mesa Police Association Facebook page. This one crazy ass woman keeps trying to demonize this widow. It is so weird. Her facebook page "Justice for Daniel Shaver" says someone (one of the defendants supportive mesa p.d buddies (mesa police or the county police) played the song "hit the road jack" as she walked into whatever phase of the trial yesterday. The Mesa Police Association facebook page has received an amazing amount of shit from facebook users for their callous posts about this incident. I cannot believe they haven't deleted the post it is still there and it is awful. While I sympathize with a police officer that reaching for the waistband of your shorts, in an intoxicated and confused state could constitute a lethal threat, they could have easily disabled the man crawling on the floor with his face in the carpet with NONLETHAL methods. 5 or more officers with weapons trained on him as he crawled across the floor, seen begging for his life, with his face on the carpet, and this now becomes a potential murder. The district attorney has seen the officer's body cam footage and determined that lethal force was not justified in this incident. He won't release it and his reasons are a little suspect. He won't let the widow talk about this case if she does view the video. Who knows if they will ever release the video. But the video--- convinced the state district attorney to file murder charges against the police officer, Mitch Asshole. But ole mitch the "you're fucked" killer policeman, has a daddy with deep connections to the internal investigations unit and so he will most likely walk away pretty much a free man. The victim, by all accounts, was a really loving father and husband. He stayed in Mesa, Arizona often for work, was known to the hotel staff, and definitely was not a threat to any of the law enforcement officers that night. He was actually recorded on the body cam footage pleading please don't shoot me when he was killed.

Why is that cop allowed to carry his own personal AR-15 rifle? What about the other cops' guns? |

Tense situation? A man crawling on his hands and knees in a hallway crying and begging for his life with 5 cops all pointing their guns at him. Yeah, that must have been terrifying for those cops.

Re: Photos of Daniel Shaver After He Was Shot by Police
They admitted he was unarmed and the pellet guns were in the room! So claiming he was reaching for his waist band is probably total b.s. like most excuses cops give for killing unarmed citizens!

Re: Photos of Daniel Shaver After He Was Shot by Police
I hope the murder charge sticks in court because that guy shouldn't be allowed to touch a firearm again. The victim shouldn't have reached for his pants after the cops already warned him not to, but it seems like that cop was just trigger happy anyway. The shooter's admission about the "terrifying" experience of watching the guy crawl in gym shorts and a t-shirt is pretty laughable though. They got called in because of reports of a man with a rifle? Look at what he's wearing, did the cop think the guy was concealing the rifle in his ass? I just don't buy the cop's story, it seemed like they already had the situation under control. The guy aimed a rifle capable of going fully automatic, in basically a well-lit area while the guy is laying on the ground begging for his life... It just doesn't seem like someone with "you're fucked" inscribed on his rifle would scare that easily. I can't wait for the bodycam footage. |
