They weren't called out for a guy on a murderous rampage, they didn't even know if or what kind of threat they were dealing with. They used excessive force. All they knew was that he had a firearm and their first statement was if he made just ONE mistake, they were going to end his life.
It just makes me love my country for the fact that we have no so called second amendment.
The problem with America is that it is so easy to obtain automatic rifles that any idiot can get one and kill someone so the police base their actions around them.
It is quite difficult to get an automatic weapon and no not everyone can get one. They have been highly regulated for decades and new ones are illegal to sell.

Perhaps you mean semi-automatic.
