He has a lot of people convinced that he didn't do it on purpose, the retching seems to be helping his cause! Its quite a change in behaviour from the first day of the trial (not acknowledging her family, only speaking when addressed directly) to now where he seems to be a blubbering wreck who is so overcome with sorrow over what happened..... Maybe I'm just too cynical! |

No, he won't get out of this one. Read up on the judge. She is known for her stance on violence against women. There is no jury in a South African court, just the judge and her two assessors who will assist her weigh up the evidence. Legal opinion is that the case is going VERY badly for him at this point. We shall see how the defence case pans out when court resumes on May 5, but I don't think they can come back from the damage that has been done. He's at very least technically guilty of culpable homicide (like the SA version of manslaughter), as he negligently fired his weapon at an unknown target. At very least I think he will be found guilty of culpable homicide, but more likely I think it will be premeditated murder...we shall see.

It's unreal. I can't even process the thought of any of what he is saying being the truth. I understand the country is dangerous, and MAYBE if this was some normal random bloke living in a normal house, it could be concieveable.
