After listening to him speak, I believe he is genuine. I believe he didn't realise it was her in there - as ridiculous as it is that he wouldn't check, I think he just freaked out and honestly thought there was an intruder.
And if you look at the door, you can see the shots came from a lower angle. So I believe that he didn't have his prosthetics on.

And if he purposely shot her after an argument, you would think he'd put his "legs" on. If you're fighting and chasing ppl around, you don't do it without prosthetics. Especially since it hurt to walk on the stumps and especially on hard marble and tiles.

I don't think he shot her out of anger, I believe his story. Stupid thing to go around shooting with a gun when you don't know exactly where everyone is/was .

We have a different legal system in the States, but in the US, I'd say it was involuntary manslaughter.
