From Wikipedia: "On appeal by the state for a longer prison sentence, the Supreme Court of Appeal increased the prison term to a total of 15 years. Pistorius will be eligible for parole in 2023."

In my concealed carry class one of the case studies was of a guy who was outside a Burger King in the parking lot and shot someone he saw inside who was holding a gun and pointing it at someone behind the counter. But it turned out the guy he shot was the Manager of the Burger King who had triggered an alarm and was holding some robbers at gunpoint until the police arrived. So this "good samaritan" killed the guy defending his own restaurant, which then allowed the robbers to escape. The moral of the story being, if it isn't already painfully obvious, is that you never pull the trigger until you have positively identified the target. When I read his version of events years ago I was left with the impression that he was so insecure about his prostheses that he couldn't stand the idea of Reeva leaving him for a guy who still had the feet he was born with. And it obviously bothered him more than her, or she never would have dated him in the first place, and probably only considered leaving him when she saw how insecure it made him. So he played the same card so many thousands of men have before him, and decided "If I can't have her, then nobody can." FU Pistorius for trying to cash in your fame for a "get out of jail free card" ya punk ass bitch.
