I wonder if the vest stopped any of those bullets? Also the cop managed to draw his service weapon, unfortunately a bit too late.

Re: New Mexico Police Officer Darian Jarrott Murdered During Traffic Stop

Here we go again....

But I am curious: since he was a felon and shouldn’t have even had a gun, pray tell.....what law would have stopped him from doing this? The law against murder? That has to be it
Its the "right to bear arms" that's fucked up and archaic. Weapons in the states are just so abundant, just freely circulating around the country and amongst its citizens. The culture of "its my unalienable right to bear arms" has created a set of circumstances where its too easy (legally or illegally) to purchase a weapon with a magazine that can unload 30 rounds quickly - like we saw the man doing in this video.

Re: New Mexico Police Officer Darian Jarrott Murdered During Traffic Stop

Bet he wishes he didn't fuck around after telling him about the window tint.

Here's how that should go: "hey, your tint is dark, can you get that solved?" "Yes, officer." "Alright, cool beans, have a good day."

Instead, all they do is fish for bullshit using the pretextual stops and then shit like this happens.

Was the cop a bit too nice given how he could have handled it? Arguably so.

Did the cop have to bring the guy back with him to check the damned name? Not at all. In fact, he could have just issued a verbal warning for the ridiculous tint law.

This looks staged or fake like out of a movie. Something seems off...... need more verification of backstory. I don’t recall see in this in the news

It’s too easy to purchase a weapon? Why shouldn’t it be as long as you follow the law? How do you take issue with someone legally purchasing a gun?! If I’m a regular joe who obeys the law and I want to buy a gun why should I not be able to walk to my local FFL and buy a gun and go home with it that same day? Tell me what is wrong with that scenario. Why should I have to wait a week? Why should I be subject to extra taxes?

If I’m a criminal who is banned from owning or possessing a firearm I cannot walk down to my local FFL and do the same based on the laws of the land. What more do you want? You want to restrict what law-abiding joe can own? What he can buy? Or do you want to try and restrict what the criminal can do by penalizing the law abiders, because that’s effectively what happens since criminals, by definition, don’t obey the law.

Because of the rotten apples you want to restrict the many more that DO obey the law? That’s pretty fucked up.

In 2019 just over 10,000 people were killed as a result of drunk-driving incidents. Many innocent motorists who were just out and about, others small children who were playing around their neighborhood. Is it the number of gun deaths that bother you? If so, I sure hope you’re as against legal purchases of alcohol as you seem to be against legal purchase of firearms. You don’t even have to fill out paperwork or have a background check to buy alcohol....talk about easy.

I initial thought the same as you on this one, but after reading more into it, the officer was working with DHS. He used the tint as his PC to pull him over. DHS failed to inform the officer the danger this guy posed, and simply asked that he makes a traffic stop on that certain vehicle. This is why they were on scene so fast after the cop had been killed.

But yeah, I kinda felt bad for shitting on the dude for pulling someone over in NM for dark tint, once I realized it wasn't really his choice. Either way, fuck the war on drugs...

Cop should have been ready to shoot the second he saw that gun in the car. He was way too relaxed and that cost him his life unfortunately.
