Portuguese motorcycle racer Luis Filipe de Sousa Carreira died in an accident during a qualifying session for the Macau Grand Prix on November 15, 2012. Luis Carreira was 35 years old at the time of the accident.

The accident occurred at the Guia Circuit in Macau, a street circuit known for its challenging layout and tight corners. Carreira was negotiating the Fisherman's Bend of the circuit when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed. Despite the immediate response from the emergency medical team at the track, Carreira succumbed to his injuries.

I used to ride, but you couldn't pay me to get on a bike any more. But I guess that's what youth is for; to take stupid risks and hopefully learn from them. He was probably too old for this kind of thing anymore.
