Hey guys not much gore here but some close up pictures of the wreckage gives us a pretty large perspective of the damage caused by this imbecile.

Was talking to my ex recently she told me her Uncle was in the train and is in a coma and had to get his spline removed, hope he makes it through and our thoughts to the victims who didn't.

On July 24, 2013, a catastrophic train derailment occurred near Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, Spain, resulting in 79 deaths and injuring over 140 people. This disaster is considered one of the worst rail accidents in Spanish history.

The train, an Alvia high-speed service, was en route from Madrid to Ferrol, carrying 218 passengers. As it approached the Santiago de Compostela station, the train derailed on a sharp curve. Investigations later revealed that the train was traveling at over twice the speed limit for that section of the track.

The driver of the train, Francisco José Garzón Amo, was later charged with 79 counts of homicide by professional recklessness and an additional number of counts of causing injury. The investigation focused on his failure to reduce speed as well as potential shortcomings in the railway's security systems that might have prevented the accident.

I saw part of a video earlier,but it wasn't in English. It looked like a electrical/technical malfunction caused the derailment, but the OP mentioned an 'imbecile'. Was this caused by human error?

The accident was caused by the train operator going through an 80 kph turn in speeds in excess of 124. Operator had posted several e-peen pics of hitting high speeds on the rail. Case of showing off without regard for the passenger's safety.
